Carolyn Todd BVMS, MRCVS, is originally from Scotland and graduated from Glasgow University Veterinary School. She then made the leap across the pond to undertake an internship with Ferguson and Associates in Ocala, FL where she developed a special interest in lameness and performance horse medicine. After her internship she joined the same practice as an associate veterinarian where she focused on thoroughbred yearlings and 2-year olds in training. Dr. Todd went on to be the sole veterinarian for a thoroughbred training and breeding farm in Ocala which gave her the unique opportunity to develop her own practice specializing in lameness and performance horse medicine.
In 2009, Dr. Todd moved to Palm City and joined the Harbour Ridge Equine Team. Since then she has been providing advanced lameness diagnostics, treatments and innovative therapies to help her patients compete at the highest level.
Edgardo Fullana, DVM attended St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished his clinical training at the University of Florida. After graduation, Dr. Fullana’s special interest in equine reproduction and medicine took him to Ocala, FL. where he completed an internship at Equitransfer, LLC which is one of the leading embryo transfer facilities in the United States.
In 2009, Dr. Fullana moved to Palm City and joined the Harbour Ridge Equine Team. He now heads our thriving Reproduction Center and is responsible for broodmare management, embryo transfer, semen collection, evaluation & freezing, as well as neonatal medicine. In addition to reproduction, he provides advanced dentistry, dermatology, ophthalmology, preventative care and emergency medicine to our clients.
Alexis Torre, DVM attained a B.S. degree in Biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. She then attended Oklahoma State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduating, she returned to San Antonio, TX to complete an internship at Retama Equine Hospital. There she gained experience in surgery, lameness, internal medicine, dentistry, reproduction, emergencies, and general wellness.
Following her internship, Dr. Torre joined a sports medicine practice that focused on show jumpers and dressage horses, but also treated hunters and eventers. She spent part of the year based in Virginia and the winter in Wellington, FL. A lifelong equestrian, her special interest is in sports medicine, but she also enjoys dentistry, internal medicine, and emergency care. She has been an integral part of the Harbour Ridge Equine team since May 2015.
Jennifer Morrissey, DVM, MS attained a B.S. degree in Animal Science from Penn State. She then attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, for her veterinary degree. Dr. Morrissey spent a year completing a rotating internship at Moore Equine Veterinary Center in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. During her internship, Dr. Morrissey rotated through internal medicine, neonatal care, lameness, surgery and anesthesia cases. She remained in the area after her internship to work as a research associate in the field of sepsis monitoring.
Her strong interest in equine reproduction led her to spend a breeding season at Hartman Equine Reproduction Center- a premier embryo transfer center in Whitesboro, Texas. She was then accepted to Colorado State University's residency program in Theriogenology where she was actively involved in stallion collections, semen freezing, embryo transfer, foaling and research. She helped instruct veterinary students and presented at continuing education events for horse owners and veterinarians. She completed a Masters degree in Clinical Sciences simultaneous to her residency with a research focus on bacterial infections of the uterus in the mare. Before joining the team at Harbour Ridge Equine, she practiced as a stud veterinarian in New Zealand.
Dr. Morrissey's interests are focused on reproduction including stallion management, the problem mare, and foaling management. She also enjoys general medicine and emergency care. Dr. Morrissey joined the Harbour Ridge Equine team in February 2018
Allison Howard, DVM, is originally from Versailles, Ky. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Biology at the University of Kentucky, before attending Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating she returned to Lexington, KY to complete a surgical internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital. During that year she gained experience in surgery, anesthesia, lameness, emergencies, and radiology. Following her surgical internship she moved to Ocala, FL to complete an ambulatory internship with Peterson and Smith. While there she worked on Thoroughbreds in training, emergencies, and general wellness. She joined the Harbour Ridge Equine team in July of 2018.
Dr. Howard is a lifelong equestrian; she grew up following her father, also an equine veterinarian, around various farms and racetracks. She evented through the CCI* level and fox hunted for several seasons, and also enjoys riding sidesaddle.
